 Writing Task: Making Decisions in our Country



Jacinda Ardern is the Prime Minister of New Zealand. Every day she has to make some tough decisions on behalf of the country. Imagine if you were the Prime Minister of NZ. What types of decisions would you want to make? Why?


Task: Write about the role that the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has. What types of decisions does she have to make? If you were the Prime Minister what changes would you make to make NZ a better place to live?

Who is Jacinda Ardern?

Jacinda Ardern is the government for New Zealand. 


What decisions does the Prime Minister make?

She knows what level we are in, how many cases there are, what shops are open and many more. 


What decisions would you make if you were the PM?

At 12 years old, you can apply for your learner driver's license, School finishes at 1:00 o’clock. The drinking age should be 21 years old and Women should be allowed to wear makeup at the age of 25.

  1. Great work Swaimah - the Prime Minister has a very big job looking after New Zealand. Who do you think assists and supports the Prime Minister in making decisions? I like some of the decisions you have said above, such as the drinking age being raised to 21 years old. Why should schools finish at 1:00pm? Keep up the great work.
